Internet Marketing Borg
Thursday, 16 August 2007

"Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own." - Alien Borg (Star Trek)

Picture this. You just bought an online widget course that apparently will make you money while you sleep from a well-known Internet Marketing Guru using your hard earned money yesterday. The next day you received another email from the same guru promoting another widget that will again make you money while you're taking a piss.

"Huh? I haven't even begin to take action on the first widget that I bought. You mean this one is better than the first.", you wondered.

Welcome to the real world of Internet Marketing where hype rules. I know the brutal truth hurts, so deal with it.
The sooner you know the true reality of this Internet Marketing Beast, the less inclination you'll feel to take out your credit card for every new widget launches that comes your way. Ignore this unwritten rule and reality will bite you in the ass.

Let us scrutinize the reasons why Internet Marketing is being exploited this way.

Reasons

  1. It is easier to sell YOU the information on how to make money online rather than taking action from the same information that they're selling.

"Here are the proof that my widget  works."

Have you ever wondered why all the payment screenshots showing you hundreds of dollars earned are from their own ClickBank accounts selling the widget rather than using the widget. Hmmm...
  2. Internet Marketers marketing to Internet Marketers. It is a just a Numbers game. The top Internet Marketers (I won't divulge names) knows this for a fact that they can only sell this game to newbies. As the old adage says:

"You can fool SOME of the people ALL of the time. You can fool ALL of the people SOME of the time. But you can't fool ALL of the people ALL of the time."

That's why it is crucial for them to have HUGE opt-in mailing lists because they know the game is up for some. The well-informed will NOT be responsive to their baits. If you have been exposed to Internet Marketing long enough, you'll probably be more cautious and conversative on every product launches. Newbies however will bite at every opportunity that comes their way. A 1% conversion for a $47 widget from an opt-in  mailing list of about 10,000 will yield the fellow a cool $4700. I know one top Internet Marketer who has about 150,000 opt-in mailing list. You do the math. No wonder they coined it "The Money Is In The List".
  3. Internet Marketer preys on...

The Million Dollar Question
Friday, 17 August 2007
...continuation from Internet Marketing Borg

"How do you position your site uniquely from the masses of other Internet Marketers fighting for every scrap of crumbs that the Top Internet Marketing Gurus leave behind?"

The answer is simple...Don't.

Selling Internet Marketing widgets to other Internet Marketers is NOT the be all and end all of marketing online. You'll be surprised that it constitutes only probably 1% of the massive opportunites out there on the internet that you can market. Why bother fighting for scraps that the big name top internet marketing gurus leave behind?

So, get your feet wet marketing to other Internet Marketers but get out from the zone eventually. There are a lot of materials and useful information that you can glean from the hundreds of internet marketing ebooks that you diligently collected. Apply them to other markets.

The definition of Internet Marketing Blueprints is ALL about blueprints. These blueprints are universal which can be applied to any market. The only difference is the target audience. The "My" in front of it is my own personal observation.

Feel free to add your own.
