Getting Your First Domain
Wednesday, 13 June 2007
Owning a piece of virtual real estate in cyberspace can be daunting or terrifying for the un-initiated. But getting your first domain is not as difficult as it seems.

Here's my take on acquiring a domain name:

1. If you're going for a certain niche to specialize in, then go for a domain name with keywords in it just like myinternetmarketingblueprints.com (Don't bother trying to park myinternetmarketingblueprints.net , i've already did.)

2. Otherwise, you could go for a generic one that is catchy to remember like yahoo.com , google.com (Don't bother trying to park the .net equivalents either. You're too late. Someone already did.)

3. Or you could go for <your own name>.com. I did. I've registered mohdnizam.com (Don't wait too long. You're not the only one with that name. Smile )

If you want some ideas for a killer domain name, then you should visit deleteddomains.com
That website search Expired/Dropped/Deleted domain names everyday. Go to the Power Search, key in your keyword and click Show Domains. It will show you the first 20 domain names that are up for grabs. You'll be spoilt for choice.

However, you have to be a member if you want to search more domain names.

That will give you enough searches to find your killer domain names.
