The Truth Is Coming Out |
| Tuesday, 21 August 2007 | |
I received an email recently from Scott Boulch. Check out what he has to say. Let the truth prevails.![]() How's this Internet Marketing thing working out for you? What if I told you that your limited success or lack of success was not your fault, but a flaw in the system, and the process that we are all caught up in? What if I told you the truth about what is really going on behind the scenes, and pulled back the curtain on the wizard's? And what if I told you about a completely new approach to Internet Marketing that could finally deliver on the promise that so many of us have spent our hard earn cash and precious time on? Well that is what I'm about to do over the next few days. Tell the truth. Most of you know by now that I'm not a fan of being politically correct and that I call it like I see it. This will certainly not make me popular among the "Gurus" and what I'm about to share with you will probably forever black ball me from their little fraternity. Most of you will feel like a ten thousand pound weight has been lifted off your shoulders just the way I did when it finally clicked and the light bulb went off. Chances are if your like 98% of Internet Marketers, your online career is not going so well, or at least not as well as you had expected. I'll bet my last months income that its no where near as good as all those sales pages claim is "just a click away!" We have truly entered a dark time in the industry and the biggest looser as always is the customer. There are so many screaming voices (mine included) that shout from the top of every opt in list that "My way is the way to your wildest dreams!" Our inboxes are filled each week with the latest greatest "you can't live without it" crap, to the point that many Internet Marketers spend as much time reading sales letters and buying products FOR their Internet business as they do ON their internet business. It seems that a small section of the market forgot that The Internet is a Tool, Not a Product, and they are preying on the hopes and dreams of their customers. We got in this business to use the internet to market real products and services to real customers, not to each other! Have you ever wondered why so many Internet Marketers sell products to Internet Marketers rather than to a traditional niche or customer? It's because we are an easy target! In this industry it is an unfortunate truth that... "If you sell it, they will come!" The promise of income and the confusion over the technology allows unscrupulous marketers to pitch you anything. The average customer has no way to know if what they are buying will ever lead to income, if it is last year's news or is a cheap knock off of something that is legitimate! The worst part is most of the marketers cranking out products have never walked the walk! The Majority of the So Called Internet Marketing "Gurus" earn 100% of their income from selling products to Internet Marketers. Does that make sense to you? Unless your goal is to learn how to sell stuff to Internet Marketers, aren't you learning from the wrong people? Would you learn how to Skydive from someone who sells ebooks on Skydiving, to Skydivers, but has never actually jumped? Harvey Mackay said it best "Beware the naked man who offers you his shirt." In the good old days, say three years ago, people used to innovate, create a product, then build a website and promote it. Then they would continue to sell that product for years building a long term loyal customer base. Not Today! Today the industry has "Launch Fever" and it's turned a real persistent business model in to a virtual Wham Bam, One Night Stand! If you have ever hit the Buy Now button only to wake up in the morning feeling used and abused, you know what I'm talking about. They do not remember you in the morning, and they are not interested in a long term relationship! Launch Jockeys are cranking out products so fast that the new hot bright shiny object has a life span of days or even hours before the next miracle "Road to Riches" steals its thunder! Instead of building a great product then spending a significant amount of time money, and effort building a happy loyal customer base; today's "Gurus" take the shortcut to quick one-time hits of cash. Then What? These Launch Jockeys know it's a one time hit and have no long term plans for developing a customer base. They need another quick hit of cash or they are out of business as fast as they got in. Like a crack addict looking for a fix they scramble to find another way to milk their list for some more cash. Since they can't push their own product past the hype of the launch phase they look to farm their newly created list by shoving other peoples bright shiny objects down our throats! They don't have long term customers but they do have a list of suckers, sorry, "buyers" that have proven they will purchase based solely on promotion, emotion and hype! And So Begins The J-V-Palooza! Our Launch Jockey now sells out his list to the highest bidder! Does he make an informed recommendation for a great product that he has personally used and profited from? Not a chance! It's now an all out game of push the next hot thing that pays the most to my unsuspecting list. The Launch Jockey scrambles to JV and piggy back on other Launch Jockeys' products; in fact so many JVs push a single product that they have now lowered themselves to Bonus Wars! Who can pile on the biggest load of old crap from the closet on top of the load of crap being launched! If you have to be bribed to buy from someone don't you smell a fish - - A very rotten fish? And what, you ask, are these bonuses comprised of??? Yesterdays "Launched Out" Crap! Here is the worst part! You Pay Double Just to Cover the cost of JV Commissions! JV Commissions of 50% or more of the price of the product are typical. Anytime the JV partner makes as much as the producer of the product, it has to make you wonder what you're getting for your money. Not only that, but who is minding the store? Once you have made that impulse decision to by, and the seller has paid out 50% to the JV's another 30% to uncle Sam in taxes, just how much training and support do you think you the customer will be getting once the honeymoon of the launch wears off? One time quick hits of cash lead to miserable treatment of the customer, simply because the seller has no more financial incentive to help you! Once the Launch is over and you are separated from you cash, launch jockeys can go on their merry way without a thought to customer service. They have no long term responsibility for their customers! It's no wonder why Internet Marketers feel used and abused after chasing the latest bright shiny object, an once again having their hopes dashed as the hype fades and the school of fish moves to the next hot thing. Have you have ever wondered why all the "Gurus" suddenly seem to be in love with the same product at the same time and send you emails with Bonus Wars on the same day...then the big launch, and then you never hear about that product again! The "Launch Formula" that so many gurus follow has been abused to the point that it is now nothing more that a way to create hype and false scarcity, so you the customer gets sucked in to the "I gotta have it" mentality! Yes there is a conspiracy! A conspiracy to profit from The Sale of stuff at an inflated price to you! Make no mistake there are "Insider" calendars and launch dates planned out months in advance so they don’t conflict with one another. There is even a secondary market for Launches as we now see a huge increase in JV brokers! Now we even have middle men for the middle men... and it all comes across like a false feeding frenzy on launch day. By this point you are probably saying, "Stop The Rant And Give Me A Better Solution." If what I'm about to tell you makes sense, you will soon understand why so few Internet Marketers ever reach their goals. No product, No Big Box Of DVD's, No Magic Software, No Coaching program, No Seminar, Webinar, Teleconference, No Secret Information, and No Launch fever will ever make you a dime! They are all flawed, and each one unto themselves is a waste of time and money without the Common Denominator of Success. So what's missing from the list above? The answer as it is so many times, is very simple. SKILL! Chances are if you been buying lots of "Stuff" the only skill that you have developed lately is entering your credit card information on sales pages.... You Can't Buy Skill! And anyone that tells you they can sell it to you in a box is a fraud. It may seem that I am contradicting my own rant here. Most of you saw the email I sent a few weeks ago promoting the Membership Site Boot camp.... So am I speaking out of both sides of my mouth? I bought the product and it would have probably ended there, but Tim and Ryan made one giant leap in the right direction, and I felt comfortable promoting it based on that. You see not only did I buy it for myself, I bought it at full price! There was no pre-launch evaluation copy sent to me by a JV broker trying to convince me to sell it to my list. For me it was old school. I saw a great product and I referred it based on what I know, and.....What I have been personally be working on for the last three months! This email is not about membership sites but it leads to the solution. As Johnny Cochran would say... "A One Time Sale Causes The Customer To Fail!" If you ever expect to develop the "Skill" of Internet Marketing to non Internet Marketers, you will have to learn it from someone who has already developed that skill, and who is willing to mentor you. The missing link, and the Common Denominator of Success is simple. Apprenticeship! Apprenticeship, is not a thing, it's a process and therefore cannot be built in to software, taught at a seminar, or put in box of DVD's. It is according to Wikipedia: [Apprenticeship] is a system of training a new generation of skilled crafts practitioners. It is the driving force behind every masterpiece! It's how Tony Robbins, learned it from Jim Rhone, Who Learned it from Mr. Schof who if we kept tracing it back would have started with Napoleon Hill. Its how the Mondovi boys continue to make great wine, just as their father taught them! At age 39 and at least 20 pounds overweight it's how I learned to run a marathon! I trained for three years with a coach and a team, and we ran together! I did not read a book on Running, or watch people running on DVD's, "We" ran together every week for three years! And in the end, I finished the marathon Faster than OPRAH and almost as fast as P-Diddy! I did it by becoming an Apprentice from a master teacher. My coach has run over 25 marathons, she did not write a book to teach others how to run, she got out there with me and ran, and ran ,and ran... UNTIL! Until after three years I was ready! Originally the process was only supposed to take 6 months! She was with me step by step, every week UNTIL! Les Brown says "It's Not Over Till You Win" And from now on, that is our Mantra! For the last six months or more John Jonas and I have been spending countless hours on the phone and with customers searching for the missing link, and it was there staring us in the face the entire time. If you have tried and failed, or had limited success, "It's not your fault!" I'm assuming your desired outcome is a profitable business. If your outcome was a red Porsche for instance, you could in fact get your outcome by "Buying" one. But you cant "Buy" skill, therefore the purchase of products, regardless what type cant get you the outcome you desire. But Skill can be taught through action, and repetition, and by having someone there who has already achieved the outcome you desire, taking each step with you, leading you step by step to the finish line. ![]() |
